Ellen Torregrossa-O’Connor

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:

ELLEN TORREGROSSA-O’CONNOR, an associate at the law firm of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer P.A., concentrates her practice in the areas of criminal law and civil rights litigation.  Ms. Torregrossa-O’Connor represents clients in all phases of criminal proceedings in both Federal and State Courts, including significant appellate work.  She also specializes in civil rights litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants.

Ms. Torregrossa-O’Connor also appears frequently in municipal court matters, as well as administrative matters, such as disciplinary hearings at the municipal and state level and Alcohol Beverage Control and other licensing matters before various administrative agencies.

Ms. Torregrossa-O’Connor first became associated with the firm after completing an appellate clerkship with the Honorable Thomas F. Shebell, Jr. in 1991.  She practiced in the areas of criminal defense and civil rights before joining the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office in 1993.  As an assistant prosecutor, she acquired extensive jury trial experience.  Before returning to the firm, she joined the firm of O’Connor and O’Connor, where she practiced in the area of municipal law, handling discrimination claims, labor and employment matters, disciplinary actions, and other matters before various local boards.

Ms. Torregrossa-O'Connor is a member of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Monmouth County Bar Association.
