BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:
HEATHER G. SUAREZ has been with the firm since her admission to the bar in 1981 after graduating from Rutgers College and Rutgers Law School-Newark. She has been responsible for real estate, corporate and commercial law matters including complex financing. She has also handled all aspects of the development of real estate, including but not limited to condemnation, zoning, planning, traffic and environmental issues. As to commercial and corporate law, her involvement has included stock or asset acquisitions, the disposition of corporations, the formation of limited liability companies or partnerships, the acquisition of partnership assets, and negotiating building contracts and commercial leases. She has also been responsible for handling state and federal litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. She has litigated substantive matters involving the areas of contract, insurance, bankruptcy, Uniform Commercial Code, consumer fraud, real estate, declaratory judgment, equity, constitutional law, negligence, matrimonial and employment discrimination. Ms. Suarez was recognized by the Women's Fund of New Jersey as an outstanding Woman in Real Estate. She is a member of NJ 300 (sponsored by the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce), an organization comprised of New Jersey's most powerful and influential women. Ms. Suarez is a member of its Steering Committee. She is serving on the Supreme Court Committee on Women in the Courts and currently the Chairperson of its Law School Education Subcommittee. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and a member of its Board of Consultors, Real Property, Probate and Trust Section, and is its Newsletter Editor. Ms. Suarez is also a member of the Essex County Bar Association. She is also a member of Industrial Commercial Real Estate Women, NJ Inc. She is its immediate past president, and currently serves as advisor to its Board of Directors.
