Wendy Johnson Lario

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:

WENDY JOHNSON LARIO represents employers in litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistleblowers, breach of contract, among others. She also provides advice and counsel to management and in-house counsel on employee issues, including hiring, firing, discipline, leave and attendance, FMLA, employee accommodations, executive agreements, employment agreements, severance agreements, misconduct, internal investigations, background checks (including FCRA requirements and the use of criminal history reports), employee handbooks, reductions in force, and employer requirements under Identity Theft statutes. Ms. Lario has represented companies in the telecommunications, retail, automobile, pharmaceutical, consumer electronics, and chemical industries, among others.

Ms. Lario has appeared on national television, including the CBS Early Show and CNN's Lou Dobb's Tonight.

Ms. Lario was featured in The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel in an article dealing with the New Jersey Identity Theft Protection Act, and has commented on employment law issues in The Wall Street Journal, Philadelphia Inquirer, New Jersey Law Journal, Star-Ledger, The Record, the Courier News, New Jersey Business, NJ Biz, and the Asbury Park Press.

Ms. Lario lectures extensively and conducts seminars and training sessions concerning numerous employment law issues, including anti-discrimination laws, wrongful discharge, sexual and other harassment, diversity training, and state and federal laws including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, New Jersey's Law Against Discrimination, New York's Human Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, New Jersey's Family Leave Act, and New Jersey's Conscientious Employee Protection Act.

Ms. Lario is the creator and editor-in-chief of the Employer's Law Blog (www.EmployersLawBlog.com), a weblog that presents the latest labor, employment, benefits, and executive compensation law in New York, New Jersey, and at the federal level.
