Deputy Attorney General 2 (Assistant Bureau Chief)

SALARY: $79,247.71 to $114,890.41

LOCATION: Office of Insurance Fraud Prosecutor

NUMBER OF POSITIONS AVAILABLE: One (1)

DUTIES: Under direction of the Acting Insurance Fraud Prosecutor, Bureau Chief or other supervisory official in the Department of Law and Public Safety participate in the planning, development and organization of the work programs involved in the detection and prosecution of criminal activities; review, evaluate and consult with insurance carriers on referrals and assess the viability of criminal cases; interpret and enforce laws, rules, directives and guidelines; communicate with and assist Federal, State, County and local agencies on insurance related matters; assist with supervision of the Office of the Insurance Fraud Prosecutor staff including evaluating attorneys; and perform other related legal and administrative tasks as required.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor. Admission to practice as an Attorney at Law in the State of New Jersey required.

EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of experience as a practicing attorney, one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.

LICENSE: Appointee will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

PREFERENCE: Preference will be given to applicants who possess experience in the areas of white collar, financial, or insurance related matters. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership, problem solving and communication skills as duties will include the management of personnel.
