An opportunity currently exists in the unclassified service within the Department of Law & Public Safety, Division of Law, for applicants who meet the requirements specified below:

(Assistant Section Chief— Employment Litigation)
SALARY: $79,247.71 to $114,890.41

NUMBER OF POSITIONS AVAILABLE: One (1)

DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Chief of the Employment Litigation Section, and the Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Litigation Practice Group, is responsible for assisting in the oversight and management of the Employment Litigation section. Provides counsel and representation to all of the section’s clients. Assists in planning and managing the supervision and operations of the section. Assigns matters and supervises Deputy Attorneys General in the section. Assists in evaluating the performance of assigned Deputy Attorneys General. Conducts case file reviews.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor. Admission to practice as an Attorney at Law in the State of New Jersey is required.

EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of experience as a practicing attorney, one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.

LICENSE: Appointee will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

PREFERENCE: Preference will be given to applicants with five (5) or more years of experience in the area of employment law.
